Tromsø Cruise Port Norway

The port of Tromsø, often referred to as the “gateway to the Arctic,” is located high above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway. Known for its spectacular scenery, including fjords, mountains, and glaciers, Tromsø is a popular destination for experiencing the Arctic’s natural phenomena, such as the Northern Lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer.

The Arctic Cathedral (Tromsdalen Church)

The architecture of this triangular church is reminiscent of fish drying sheds. The fresco inside is beautiful and its basement was built as an anti-nuclear bunker.

This statue in honor of the explorer Roald Amundsen stands here, as Tromsø was the starting point for the large number of polar exploration, fishing or hunting trips.

Nord Norsk Kunst Museum

This art museum holds more than 2,225 works by artists from 1600 to the present day. Temporary exhibitions are also presented there.

MS Polsjerna

This vessel was built to cope with Arctic conditions and was used between 1949 and 1981 for sealing and fishing. It can now be visited.

Museum on history and society that presents photographs and films on different subjects.

Tromsø Arctic-Alpine Botanical Garden

This botanical garden features plants from alpine regions on all continents.

Prestvannet

This park in the heart of the city is popular with nature lovers. A 1.7 km trail runs along the lake.

Polaria Aquarium

Discover the aquatic species of the Arctic as well as the stars of the Polaria, the bearded seals.

A cable car takes you up to 412m on Mount Storsteinen. From up there you can admire the city and have the chance to observe the Northern Lights in winter, or the midnight sun in summer. There is a café and an observation deck. In the surrounding trails, you can hike or snowshoe depending on the season. A shuttle bus is available to get there from the city center.

Tromsø Library

The modern building of the Library with its window walls is very bright.

Bar and Hot-Dog Kiosk

This former newsstand is now the smallest bar in Europe. He also sells hot dogs.
