Sisimiut, Greenland’s second-largest city, is located just above the Arctic Circle on the west coast of Greenland.
The city has a long history, with traces of human settlement dating back more than 4,500 years. Visitors can learn about this legacy at the Sisimiut Museum, which features exhibits on the Saqqaq and Dorset cultures, as well as colonial-era artifacts.
Sisimiut is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. In the winter, it is a center for snowmobiling, skiing, and dog sledding, while the summer offers hiking, fishing, and kayaking opportunities.
