San Juan Puerto Rico

San Juan cruise port is located in the capital of Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States. The port of San Juan is also a boarding port for several Caribbean cruises. The city is made up of the old San Juan and its historical monuments and the new San Juan, the center of business and where there are many hotels.

The city was founded in 1521 by the explorer Ponce de Leon. Its unique culture has been influenced by Spanish and African culture.

The arrival by boat in San Juan is beautiful. It shows the fortifications and the fort of San Juan dating from 1539.

Where is located the Port of San Juan Cruise Terminal

The port of San Juan is located directly at the foot of the old town. So you can easily walk around. As San Juan is located on a hill, make sure you have good shoes and are in good physical condition.

How to get from San Juan airport to the port

The airport is located 13 kilometres from the port. The journey takes about 20 minutes, but it is best to allow 45 minutes to take into account possible traffic jams.

The taxi ride will cost you between $22 and $25.

Shuttles and private transport can be booked in advance.

SJU

A free trolley allows you to tour the historic centre of Old San Juan and go to the fort.

It is possible to rent a car. The companies Budget, Enterprise and Avis and other independent offers the service.
