Punta Arenas, Chile

Punta Arenas
Chile

The port of Punta Arenas is located on the Strait of Magellan, in southern Chile, in the Patagonia region. The landscape is characterized by its mountains and glaciers.

Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, this region, an obligatory passage for trade between Europe and America, was later colonized. The construction of the Panama Canal will reduce the region’s importance in world trade.
