Nanortalik, Greenland’s southernmost city, is a destination known for its rugged beauty, spectacular fjords. Its name, which means “Polar Bear Spot,” alludes to the Arctic wildlife that occasionally visits the area, although the city is best known for its towering mountains and coastal scenery.
Nanortalik’s cultural heritage is proudly displayed in its open-air museum, which features traditional turf houses and exhibits on Inuit history, northern settlements, and the town’s maritime past.
