The port of Mykonos is certainly one of the best known and popular in Greece. Characterized by white buildings with blue roofs and narrow streets, Mykonos is full of restaurants, cafes and shops. You will meet many cats all cuter than the others. The symbol of the city is certainly its windmills. The island is also known for its nightlife and beaches.

Where is locate the Port de Mykonos

Cruise ships usually dock at the port of Tourlos. Some ships will anchor offshore and transport their passengers by shuttle to the dock near city hall in central Mykonos.

Travelling around the port of Mykonos

From Tourlos, a shuttle is available to reach the center of Mykonos. A water taxi is also available directly on the dock. The street that goes to Mykonos is narrow and has no sidewalk.

Landmarks

Venetian windmills

Windmills are the symbol of Mykonos. They were used to grind wheat and were owned by cooperatives and wealthy landowners.

Located at 8 km of Chora, the monastery of Panagia Tourliani is located in the center of the Ano Mera village. In the monastery, Cretan icons, an Italian baroque altar screen, fine Byzantine wood carvings and a small museum of ecclesiastical objects are on display.

Paraportiani Church

This 15th century Cycladic Byzantine style church is the oldest in Mykonos and is located by the sea.

This island located west of Mykonos is home to a vast archaeological site that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. According to Greek mythology, it is on this island that Apollo and his twin sister Artemis were born.

This museum features funerary statues, pottery, clay figurines and jewelry mainly originating from the 2nd and 1st century B.C.
