Windmills are the symbol of Mykonos. They were used to grind wheat and were owned by cooperatives and wealthy landowners.
Ano Mera - Panagia Tourliani Monastery
Located at 8 km of Chora, the monastery of Panagia Tourliani is located in the center of the Ano Mera village. In the monastery, Cretan icons, an Italian baroque altar screen, fine Byzantine wood carvings and a small museum of ecclesiastical objects are on display.
Paraportiani Church
This 15th century Cycladic Byzantine style church is the oldest in Mykonos and is located by the sea.
Delos
This island located west of Mykonos is home to a vast archaeological site that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. According to Greek mythology, it is on this island that Apollo and his twin sister Artemis were born.
