The climate is very pleasant and stable throughout the year. You will find sandy beaches to the east of the island. Las Palmas, founded by the conquistadores, is the largest city in the archipelago.

Where is locate the Port of Las Palmas

Cruise ships dock at the port directly in the center of the city. A shopping center is nearby (El Muelle). The center of the city can be reached on foot, in about 10 minutes, by taking the sidewalk on the left when leaving the port.

Landmarks

The construction of this cathedral began in 1500 and was completed in 1570. A museum of sacred art is located in its south wing.

One of the first houses in the city, Christopher Columbus allegedly stopped there to rest on his way to the New World in 1492.
