The Kristiansund port is located on the rugged coastline of central Norway. The town of Kristiansund is spread across four islands connected by bridges. Known as the “cod capital” of Norway, Kristiansund has a long history of fishing, particularly the thriving cod trade, and remains a hub for Norway’s fishing fleet today.
The colourful wooden houses, particularly in the old town, reflect its maritime heritage, while the picturesque viewpoints around the islands offer stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Kristiansund is also famous for its opera house, the oldest opera house in Norway. Nature lovers can enjoy hiking, fishing and boat trips.
