The port of Catania is located on the northeast coast of Sicily in Italy. Catania, the capital of the province of the same name, is located near the volcano of Mount Etna which is still active. The city lives under a constant threat of volcanic eruption. In 1693, the city was completely destroyed by an earthquake. The city was later rebuilt with volcanic stone.
The city of Taormina and its Roman ruins is just over 90 minutes away.

The city of Taormina is located at an altitude of 200m. Its city center is pedestrianized and it is pleasant to stroll through its alleys to admire the medieval architecture of the city. The city offers splendid views of the sea. The Ancient City Theater is the main point of interest of the city.
This village built on the ruins of a Norman castle is perched in the mountain above Taormina.
