Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced an exciting development for cruise enthusiasts in the Southeast United States: starting in 2025 the Norwegian Gem will call Jacksonville, Florida its homeport from November to April each year until 2028. With its 2,394-guest capacity, the Norwegian Gem promises to bring an array of unforgettable experiences to the region.

Jacksonville, located in the northeastern corner of Florida, boasts a burgeoning cruise market, strategically positioned to cater to over 98 million potential travelers within a convenient driving distance of the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal.

The itineraries offered by the Norwegian Gem promise immersive tropical getaways, featuring a variety of destinations in The Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean. Passengers can choose from three 12-day and two 11-day roundtrip Eastern Caribbean sailings, calling at enchanting ports including Great Stirrup Cay (NCL’s private island in the Bahamas), Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), St. Thomas and St. John’s USVI, Antigua, Basseterre (St. Kitts); San Juan (Puerto Rico) and more. Additionally, shorter cruises lasting four or five days will explore The Bahamas, with visits to Great Stirrup Cay, Freeport, and Nassau.

The Norwegian Gem offers passengers a host of entertainment options, including a spa, panoramic pool views, award-winning restaurants and bars, world-class entertainment, an arcade, casino, and NCL’s complimentary youth program, Splash Academy.
