See the new cruise ships of 2025
The year 2024 has seen the arrival of exceptional cruise ships, each redefining the industry standards for luxury, innovation and comfort. Many travelers enjoy sailing aboard newer ships. Here is a selection of the new ships that set sail in 2024:
Icon of the Seas
This ship, the largest ever built, offers an unparalleled experience with its seven pools, its 17,000 square foot water park and top-notch family facilities. The ship has more than 40 restaurants and 28 types of cabins. Several innovations are introduced with this ship. The Aquadome transforms throughout the day and goes from a quiet place during the day to a lively place at night. It is home to the Aqua Theater where aquatic shows are presented. Other innovations include the largest swimming pool at sea with a swim-up bar and several new types of waterslides.

Sun Princess
This new Sphere-class ship offers bright spaces and technological innovations, with a particular focus on the passenger experience. The bright central plaza located in the sphere offers views of the sea. The dome is a multifunctional space that serves as a swimming pool during the day, but transforms into a performance stage at night. It presents shows designed in collaboration with Cirque Éloize.
- Maiden voyage: February 2024.
- Capacity: 4,300 passengers.
- Homeport: Fort Lauderdale, USA in winter and Mediterranean in summer.
AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia
Specifically designed to maximize the picturesque views along the Magdalena River, both ships offer extraordinary river cruise experiences with luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views.
- Maiden Voyage: AmaMagdalena in March and AmaMelodia in June
- Capacity: AmaMagdalena will accommodate 60 passengers while AmaMelodia will accommodate 64 passengers.
- Itineraries: Magdalena River between Cartagena and Barranquilla.
Avalon Alegria
The ship welcomes guests on board with a warm blend of light and dark woods, accented by rich copper and taupe hues, vibrant tones of green mixed with cool blues in the public areas and pops of yellow in the ship’s new Panorama Suite and Deluxe Staterooms. The color palette on board was inspired by the landscapes of the Douro Valley.

Queen Anne
This Cunard ship embodies British elegance with modern amenities, offering a refined yet traditional cruise experience. Queen Anne features a pickleball court and an archery center.

Silver Ray
This luxury ship from Silversea Cruises is the second in the Nova class. Its asymmetrical design offers an unrivaled openness to the horizon and landscapes.

Utopia of the Seas
This Oasis-class ship, the first in its class to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), offers more than 40 dining and entertainment venues, including unique immersive experiences. A new district has been added to this ship, the Suite District. In addition, the Solarium Suites are making their debut on this Oasis-class ship.

Explora II
Explora Journeys’ second ship, it offers a choice of 11 culinary experiences, 6 unique restaurants, 12 bars and lounges. It also features 3 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool with retractable roof, 1 indoor hydrotherapy pool and 64 private cabanas.

Ilma (Ritz-Carlton)
This luxury yacht measures 790 feet, offering 224 airy suites all with private terraces offering directectly access to the sea.

Viking Hathor and Viking Sobek
These two new riverboats have joined the fleet on the Nile in Egypt.

This Viking Cruises ship is designed in the spirit of Viking’s much-loved series of ocean-going ships. A little wider and longer than previous ships, this is the eleventh ship in the ocean line.

Disney Treasure
Similar to the Disney Wish, this ship offers immersive experiences inspired by the Disney universe, with spacious family cabins and enchanting entertainment.
