Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled major enhancements to two of its ships, Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway. The updates promise to elevate the guest experience with improved accommodations, expanded dining options and innovative new venues.
Norwegian Bliss: Outdoor Recreation and Premium Accommodations
Horizon Park
Scheduled for a two-week dry dock from January 17 to February 2, 2025, Norwegian Bliss will introduce Horizon Park, a multi-purpose outdoor space designed for relaxation and recreation. Located on the upper deck, the space will feature lawn-style games such as cornhole and giant Jenga, as well as reclining lounge chairs, all with panoramic ocean views.
The Haven
The ship will also receive significant upgrades to its amenities, including The Haven, the brand’s signature ship-within-a-ship concept. Enhancements include the addition of three-bedroom Premiere Owner’s Suites, each featuring three and a half bathrooms, a separate dining area, renovated living areas and extensive balcony furniture. Other updates include 24 new Balcony Staterooms and two Club Balcony Staterooms, repurposing part of the Observation Lounge on Deck 15.
Dining
Norwegian Bliss’ dining options will also be enhanced. Popular venues like Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki will increase their seating capacity, while the seafood specialty restaurant Palomar, first introduced on Norwegian Prima, will replace Ocean Blue.
Following her dry dock, Norwegian Bliss will embark on a 13-day voyage from Southampton, United Kingdom, to Miami, then move on to the Western Caribbean and Mexican Riviera itineraries before heading to Alaska for the 2025 cruise season.
Norwegian Breakaway: Cinema Meets Dining
Dine at the Cinema
From February 19 to March 14, 2025, Norwegian Breakaway will undergo a three-week transformation that will add the Silver Screen Bistro, an innovative cinema and dining venue. This unique concept, which replaces the Spiegel tent, will feature oversized recliners and retractable tables, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy menu items and select dishes from global fusion restaurant, Food Republic.

Horizon Park and The Stadium
Like Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway will also have a Horizon Park, complete with a large stage for live music and entertainment. Also new is The Stadium, an outdoor space featuring games for the whole family.
Restaurants
Popular restaurant Cagney’s Steakhouse will expand, replacing Moderno Churrascaria, while Ocean Blue will be reimagined as Palomar. Additionally, the adults-only Vibe Beach Club and Haven Sundeck will benefit from additional seating and cabanas, ensuring more space for relaxation and stunning sea views.
Following these enhancements, Norwegian Breakaway will offer a range of European itineraries departing from Barcelona and Venice (Trieste), including calls at Florence/Pisa, Cannes, Corfu and Palma de Mallorca, among other picturesque destinations.
